The Spiritual Perspective
The Spiritual PerspectiveIt's a beautiful thing when an individual starts to crave the spiritual. When they have been through so much in their life, and have fought so many battles with work, life, and their addiction, that they are now finally to a point in their life where they are able to appreciate life's simplicity. Where they now crave being around their grand children often, even showing up to to their house at random times in hopes of capturing a magical moment with those grandchildren; the type of moment that might cause them to cry because it is now, at this particular time in their life that they can clearly see the big picture of it all, and it is all due to them being healed over the years by the atonement. This is the type of person we can be hopeful of becoming in our later years. The type of person who fought their addiction well, working with God every step of the way, hoping and having faith that we may one day be healed of our addiction disease. The way for some of us will be a life long pursuit and it may not be until our later years that we feel completely at peace. Though we will most certainly catch glimpses of it along the way, however, the enduring battle with addiction throughout this life just may be our lot. Back and fourth we will go in this life, falling off the light path to experience the dark path; and then fighting our way back off of the dark path to once again experience the light path. The atonement allows us to make these mistakes as long as we continue to fight those mistakes with having a broken heart and a contrite spirit, striving each time to better improve ourselves and way of life. Slowly we may make progress, but as we make progress it will seem like we are making no progress, for that is the illusion that the Dragon hopes to portray, when in reality we will have made progress, and will have since captured a way of life that is progressive and charitable. We will slowly build up a strong spiritual understanding, and will have come to recognize that the spiritual high is far better than the worldly high. Now we will realize the importance of family, and when we think of our family we will get emotional, especially when it comes to our children and grandchildren. We will start seeing the big picture of life, now having the ability to gaze further on down the road, giving us the eternal perspective of how it will all play out for our family in this life, the next life, and even eternally.
