A. Run 1 Mile (on a track) + 30 Burpees for time

B. 50 HSPU for time (at the track, find a wall or tree – be creative)

C. Some time this weekend do something that you used to love to do – but have lost touch with over the years. Think back to when you were young and innocent and do some kind of activity that used to be a big part of your life. Some ideas could be: Hiking, Running, Skiing, Walking, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Fishing, Etc. Everyone has something that they used to like to do – so get back in touch with that something, do it, and then write about it. Make it happen Cap’n.

The Road Back

The people that have the hardest time with relapse are the ones who don’t understand how to use The Invisible Hand of Help in their lives. They don’t understand that if they would just further their testimony concerning the Invisible Hand, then their strength the next day after a slip up would be coupled with the strength of the Invisible Hand.

The Invisible Hand is real, and we who struggle with addiction know all to well that the Dragon is real. If you would just be disciplined and diligent in your approach to obtaining a relationship with the Invisible Hand, then you will have constant help through not just your addiction struggles, but all of life’s struggles.

It becomes a beautiful thing when a person gets it; when they aren’t afraid to tap into the unseen, stepping foot into the darkness, only to find a magnifying light just a few steps in. The Relationship with the Invisible Hand is based solely on faith; but it is through faith where we have the greatest opportunity to see a whole new world; a new world filled with life’s most precious gems. A new world full of substance and character, where we will have enough confidence to tackle all of life’s turmoil and adversity with clarity and poise.

Don’t let The Dragon bring you down. Don’t stop fighting the WAR, for it’s through the WAR that the most will be learned about yourself; for its through the WAR that you will get stronger, developing an increase in your understanding concerning the great plan of happiness, which is the great plan of the Invisible Hand.

“The Dragon”-The Next Day

You need to take something. You’re never going to be happy again, so you might as well take something. Just do it; one more time, then you can fight this battle tomorrow instead of today. Think how much better your day will go if you just took something; take Opiate, you know He’ll make you feel better. No one will know, and then you can fight this battle tomorrow. Just do it, come on. It’s really not that big of a deal, I promise. Think how more relaxed you’ll be around your family. You’ll be a better person; more talkative, friendlier, more helpful. The entire day will be a better experience for everyone. You have been doing good, in fact, you’ve been doing great. Last night was the first time you have used Opiate in a while, so don’t worry about using him again today; it’s just a weekend thing. You won’t continue on in using him – I promise. Just put off The Invisible Hand for one more day, and let Me and Opiate have our turn; we have missed you, and have been eager to spend time with you. The Invisible Hand has been seeing a lot of you lately, we haven’t seen any of you lately. We love you just as much as He loves you, and even more. Didn’t you think your reuniting with us last night was fun? You had to have thought it was fun right? Opiate can make today just as fun. Just Do it. This is a win win for everyone; a win for you in that you can coast today, and a win for us in that we get to spend one more day trying to convince you to come back to us for good.

Power in Hiking

A. Go on a 30 minute Hike at constant challenging pace. Look to direct your thoughts towards being thankful. Bring a powerful book with you (in a small back back with water, almonds, apple, and maybe a protein bar). The 6 oclock hour would be a perfect time to begin this journey. Make this Happen.

B. Find a place to read your book (on the hike, preferably in a place of beauty) , and work on your spirituality. Do this as long as it takes until you find something out about yourself.

Thinking Out Loud: The Squat

I’ve been thinking a lot about the squat lately (as most of you know), and I’ve come to the conclusion that if I only squatted twice a week – heavy, with sound intensity, I would say that just in doing that (squatting), and nothing more, that I would be fairly prepared to handle most of life’s activities. If someone were to come to me and say “Hey, I only can work out twice a week for 30 minutes, what should I do”- I would have to tell them to squat. I feel like squatting keeps us young, and if done properly is a form of wellness.

I have come to love the squat, and feel that if my squat is strong then so is everything else. Keep working at improving your squat (Low Bar); ask questions, watch videos on it, work on getting better at the technique. If your squat depth and technique are inconsistent, then your strength will not, and cannot improve.  

Even When; You Still Can't

Even When; You Still Can’t

You still can’t have a good time, even though you did end up giving in to the temptation of Opiate and Pot. No matter what goes on throughout the night, you still can’t maintain a state of happiness and balance. You catch glimpses of it, but it’s a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. You eventually start to realize that you aren’t going to achieve the state of happiness you had hoped through the use of Opiate and Pot; therefore you start thinking about how you are going to go about in getting your relationship back with the Invisible Hand. You hate when you lose His matchless feeling of comfort and safety. You are so sorry for what you’ve done, and are now ready for it all to end so that you can work diligently to get back on His path; which is the path of truth, knowledge, and lasting happiness.

You pray to Him, asking for assistance in stopping, not regressing further down the Dragons dark and miserable path. Oh how you hope; oh how you pray; that you may stop The Dragon dead in His track, in hopes of going the righteous way.

You have found something so powerful through the Invisible Hand; you love what His spirit has to offer you. When you are in tune with Him, you are truly and profoundly happy and at peace. You feel in control, and even safe.

B. What is your definition of Spirituality? This weekend I want you to go to the most quite place you can think of and meditate. It could be in your car, in the mountains, or wherever – just get away from everything. Think nothing but positive thoughts, pray, talk to yourself, notice how slow everything moves in that quite relaxing environment. Think deep!! Do this for 30 to 45 minutes – and then write about the experience.
